The Smart Meter’s primary function is to accurately measure energy consumption and optimize meter data management processes for buildings and homes. It is a robust smart electronic device that enables energy savings and integration of renewable energy resources. It helps in reducing consumption of fossil fuel resources, thereby reducing emission of greenhouse gases and other air pollutants.
We have installed 128 units of Smart Meters at 1Powerhouse, a 32-storey corporate office tower in Bandar Utama City Centre, Petaling Jaya. By using Power Line Communication (PLC) configuration, the metering information is sent to PESTECH’s data repository, Metering Data Management (MDM) for the benefit of automatic billing and demand-side management.
With the installation of the Smart Meters, our client has taken proactive measures to reduce the electricity usage. Inadvertently, the reduction of the electricity usage (powered by Smart Meters) will reduce the carbon emission and thus contribute to the environmental sustainability.
