Client: Sarawak Energy Berhad
Completion: December 2015
This project is for the extension of the existing Mambong 275/132/33kV Substation and Entinggan 275/132kV Substation in Kota Samarahan which is located approximately 25km from Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. The project involves the entire EPCC works, i.e. design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning.
Mambong and Entinggan 275kV Substation Extension Project serves as a critical interconnection point for electric power transmission between Sarawak and West Kalimantan, Indonesia. It marks the first International Interconnection project in Sarawak between Sarawak Energy Berhad, Malaysia and Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), Indonesia. The interconnection has been developed between the transmission line connecting Mambong Substation (Malaysia) and Bengkayang Substation (Indonesia).
The installation of the 275kV capacitor bank (capbank) equipment is the second Capacitor Bank project in high voltage for SEB. The capbank installed at Mambong Substation is very crucial to maintain the power quality and sustain the electricity supply to Kuching town and Bengkayang, Indonesia.
