As part of PESTECH’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda under environmental initiative, PESTECH has collaborated with Malaysia Nature Society (MNS) in organising the Bagan Lalang Beach Cleaning and Seed Harvesting on Saturday, 27 April 2019. This activity was one of PESTECH’s effort to protect the nature and the planet.
Upon arrival, PESTIONs were greeted by MNS representative and they were given thorough briefing on the program. The program started with the Rhizophora Stylosa seeds harvesting activity where the PESTIONs were exposed with the harvesting method. Rhizophora Stylosa is a type of mangrove species that can be found in Bagan Lalang. It grows up to 15 meters (50ft) tall with a trunk diameter of up to 25cm (10inches). This was a hands-on activity and the participants had opportunity to harvest the seed on their own. 151 seeds were successfully planted by PESTIONs on that day.
The program continued with the beach cleaning activity. Together, PESTIONs managed to collect 99kg of trash as a result of their hard day’s work.
