This turnkey project includes the design & engineering, procurement, manufacture, testing at manufacturer's works, delivery to site, installation, pre-commissioning testing, commissioning and energising of all complete substation and associated civil, structure and M&E works of 132/33/11kV Substation at Samajaya Free Industrial Zone. The project marked the first 132kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Substation that was built for SEB in Kuching, Sarawak.
The project is vital to cater the new industrial stepload at Samajaya Free Industrial Zone, which are expected to come in after the commissioning of Bakut HEP. The construction of this substation is also needed to strengthen the reliability of the Kuching 132kV sub-transmission system as well as the supply to the Samajaya Free Industrial Zone and to serve as new 132kV bulk power injection point to the 33kV network.
